Facebook vs Blog

It seems that many of my friends are giving up their blogs because they can share their thoughts, photos, videos, etc on Facebook. Well, not me! I refuse to let Facebook kill the blog.

I use Facebook to share the “small stuff”. Pictures I take on my phone, random silly thoughts, things that really aren’t that important.

My blog is for the memories that are special to me. The things that are more likely to be consequential. I rarely post the same photos in both places. Sometimes I will will link to my blog posts on Facebook, but only a select “list” get to see the link. So, that means if you linked here from my FB you are part of that select list. ;)

Oh, and I can print my blog! The past two years I have made books from my blog posts and comments. They may not be the fanciest of print layouts, but I will treasure these books for years to come and I believe that our children will treasure them as well.

I blog to tell our stories and to preserve our memories.

I'm with you: FB is a chit chat, and a blog is a family history. They are entirely different to me. Blogs are a lot to keep up with, and I can totally understand people letting them go, especially if they just want to share a picture now and then. What I can't get my head around is Twitter. Even I don't want to hear my every thought...

I love your blog, it inspires me! I wish I kept up with mine as often as you do, keep up the great work! You are creating something very special for your family that you will all cherish down the road. :)

OK, you've almost convinced me that I might want to start a blog... :o) I'm still so clueless about it all.
I always enjoy yours though.
Love you my friend

You're the reason for my blog...you're my blogspiration. (sung to the tune of Chicago's "you're the inspiration).

Now, if only I could catch up on mine...

I try to keep up with both, but it's hard!

And ditto the Twitter thing!

I still need to print my blog into books for the girls. It seems so expensive x 2 though. :(
