Sausage-Filled Mancotti

1.  Meet your ingredients
  6 oz - Italian sausage
  1 box - Manicotti
1 jar - Your favorite sauce
  15 oz - Ricotta
  1 egg
3 Tbsp - Fresh parsley or less dried parsley
1 cup - Mozzarella cheese shredded
1/3 cup - Parmesan cheese shredded

2.  Boil water for pasta and preheat oven to 350 degrees

3.  Add pasta and cook per directions on box, no salt please

4. Heat skillet w/ olive oil

5.  Add sausage to skillet

6.  Brown sausage, then drain and set aside

7.  Check pasta

8.  Drain and set aside

9.  Mix all ingredient in bowl - use 1/2 of mozzarella

10.  Fill manicotti with cheese/sausage mixture
TIP 1: Use a pastry bag for less mess
TIP2: This recipe makes a lot! I only baked what we wanted and I flash froze the rest to bake at a later date.

11. Top with sauce (I used about 1/4 to 1/2  jar for this amount) and remaining mozzarella

12.  Bake about 45 minutes until hot and melty. ENJOY!

A little like the carpenters method measure twice cut once. Only you make the mess once and bake twice.

Ok...for those of us who need a little more help...please define:

How to use the pastry bag?
How to flash freeze?

When we can come for dinner? (Of course, we'll have to stay the weekend, too!) :)

Stephanie, you know who is going to see this and want me to try to make it. It looks fabulous. You'll definitely have to serve this dish the next time we're in Indy.

I decided to try this, so I had my husband get the ingredients (since I am on a no grocery shopping strike after the last exhausting trip I made). Then, I was actually able to talk him into trying it last night (because I had to work later). He made it, and it turned out wonderfully. So yummy. I think the pictures really helped him through it.

I think you've inspired all of us to make Manicotti!! I have been thinking about it for several days since reading your blog. I think I'm going to have to make it soon!
